I have a few questions. I just ordered one for myself as an Xmas gift. I did a little searching on here to find out how much of a pain in the ass it is to install and came across some other info that concerns me :oogle:

It looks like other members have all ordered size AXX. According to Wheelskins Size Chart 89-99 SHO's use AX, which is what I ordered. Will AX work? I forgot to mention I have a '94 wheel.

Also, I would like to do the "baseball" stitch because it looks factory. After reading other posts and dccarcare's instructions it sounds like you need 2 thread kits to do it. Is that true or can I get away with the single thread kit I have?

Any info would be appreciated. Thanks :thumb:

I would use two... getting to the end, and running out really sucks...

Does the thread kit use a curved needle or straight? In my experience curved needles work better, and help you get more of a tight pull. But I guess it is all in what you are used too.

AX is the right size.

Everything (cord-needle-instructions) is included in the kit to make it happen. (ebay wheelskins)

When you attempt to install it, make sure its warm or you can have the material and wheel pretty warm. This stuff relys alot on stretching. I had one on my rx7 and it fit like factory however i also had one on my 89 shos factory wheel and for whatever reason it didnt fit right. I actually ripped the first one and they sent me a second one for free and I almost ripped it. I think there is something different with the 89 wheel versus the rest though. Just make sure you've got some heat or even a hair dryer as that would help the install alot. Also if you have some comfortable gloves, wear them. My fingers were raw by the time I finished mine. -Karson

I've done 3 of them using the baseball stitch method (it'll look and feel better) and I've always finished with a quite a bit of excess threads at the end, so 1 thread kit is enough.

It can be a pain to put on, but the results are worth it, it's a great product. Remember to wear work gloves when you're pulling the twine tight (and you want it to be tight, especially around the spokes so you don't see a gap), or you're going to **** your hand in the process.

I do have one quick question about the digital dash myself, I don't want to derail the topic so that'll be it. Is it hard to get used to a digital dash? I'm having a hard time imagining driving with it, especially with a 5 speed.
