Where did you ground the starter? I cleaned some paint off of where the battery tray used to be and used one of the bolts that held the battery tray down to ground the negative cable, with a new lug, to the body. My battery is at 12V but the starter still struggles (didn't before moving the battery.) I was thinking it might be a bad ground. Any thoughts?

I started out with the neg terminal grounded to the main body at the trunk and the starter grounded to the subframe. I have AL SFB welded SFC and no rust so I thought it would be ok. It worked for a few months, but once in a while the clock/computer would reset.

I went ahead and ran a dedicated ground from the battery to the starter and all the problems went away. I highly recommend a two wire relocation when moving a battery on a SHO.

Good luck

What size wire did you use? I ran two separate 4 guage wires for power, and then grounded the negative in the trunk. But under the hood you still need a chassis ground, so I just took the old negative terminal wire(which was bolted the trans)
and bolted it to where the battery tray was bolted. It works great now.
