@SM105K, what makes your real life usage valid? You're not getting into your PTU to check for wear patterns or having the fluid tested after use for things like breakdown or boil off, are you? You're literally giving an opinion on your personal experience.
I used it 2,000 mile before my PTU failed. Now I could shortsightedly state my PTU failed because of the Redline product. And that would be my unverified opinion. Correlation does not mean causation. This goes for you case too. maybe the Redline isn't working but the PTU is holding out because of build tolerances or something.
Just seemed like a assholish response to a guy trying to shine his understanding towards a product ALL OF US no little about.

Well you have 0 loss if your ptu is locked up and the vehicle isn't runningI'm mainly looking to increase economy and reduce parasitic loss

It sounds to me like Jordan's "SEL" is and 802SHO are about the only cars that puts some serious wear on ptus and use redline, but from my understanding jordans didn't do it for very long and I believe 802 has had his sho for right around a year
I've had my SHO since November 2015. I've used Redline LWSP gear oil since last year. I did test it and I do change it very often. I've mentioned previously that I have considered trying Amsoil Severe gear. I thought my Blackstone labs report could have been better if perhaps I had a tap on the PTU and could rule out old residual fluid in there. But for the sake of the argument youre a guy who hasn't pushed his GF's SHO hard if at all...didn't you say it was your GF's? Maybe I got that wrong. So...who are you to be at the forefront of saying this or that is better than said gear oil that has been pushed to extreme limits...now if you pushed your SHO or GF's SHO to the limit and have a fond recommendation for Amsoil based on your experience then I would be interested in hearing it. AND using redline. Chill if you wanna sit at the big boy table, if your name was missed, speak up like an adult, instead of crying about who knows whatAbout the only cars that put serious wear on PTU’s!?
ok pal
Absolutely none of that report looks appealing or favorable to me. 26k miles of wear in 2,ooo miles? PASS. A blown PTU 2k miles after switching to it? PASS. No problems reported from a guy that drives his SHO 500 miles a month and changes each fluid at the end of every day? PASS.
