@SM105K, what makes your real life usage valid? You're not getting into your PTU to check for wear patterns or having the fluid tested after use for things like breakdown or boil off, are you? You're literally giving an opinion on your personal experience.

I used it 2,000 mile before my PTU failed. Now I could shortsightedly state my PTU failed because of the Redline product. And that would be my unverified opinion. Correlation does not mean causation. This goes for you case too. maybe the Redline isn't working but the PTU is holding out because of build tolerances or something.

Just seemed like a assholish response to a guy trying to shine his understanding towards a product ALL OF US no little about.

It will be tested approximately 30k miles a year on highways, cities, 2 lane blacktop, gravel, dirt, mud, creeks, and whatever else.

I once hit a giant box of vhs tapes at 80mph and the only thing i could think was I just ruined some guys **** collection.

I have already told you who and why. I have already said my findings. Andrew chimmed in too. Shodded knows more about our platform then anyone else. He flat out said use it. I works and will be fine. I believe him.

Who knows what happened to your PTU. Do you know the history of yours before you bought the car?

I do. The same Ford dealership sold the car to the 65 year old lady first owner, did all of the maintenance. After 50K the fluid wasn't changed. I put another 10k on it, and changed it at 60k with Mobil One. When my trans failed at 69k, the PTU was flushed since it was out of the car, and Redline was added.

Few SHO's I believe are more abused than mine. Jordans for sure. However after 8k miles of numerous high speed runs over (90 mph sustained) and countless 150 mph+ top speed runs for miles at a time to Ca in extreme heat, numerous track passes, numerous dyno pulls, and lots of street light runs. Pretty good sample over 17 months.

Everything is in tip top shape from feel, noise, and performance.

It sounds to me like Jordan's "SEL" and 802SHOs cars are about the only cars that put some serious wear on ptus and use redline, but from my understanding jordans didn't do it for very long and I believe 802 has had his sho for right around a year

I'm mainly looking to increase economy and reduce parasitic loss
Well you have 0 loss if your ptu is locked up and the vehicle isn't running
If thats really what you want then you probably need to go develop your own super ****, cause your not gonna find some magic brand that gives you even 3 mpg better

I've had my SHO since November 2015. I've used Redline LWSP gear oil since last year. I did test it and I do change it very often. I've mentioned previously that I have considered trying Amsoil Severe gear. I thought my Blackstone labs report could have been better if perhaps I had a tap on the PTU and could rule out old residual fluid in there. But for the sake of the argument youre a guy who hasn't pushed his GF's SHO hard if at all...didn't you say it was your GF's? Maybe I got that wrong. So...who are you to be at the forefront of saying this or that is better than said gear oil that has been pushed to extreme limits...now if you pushed your SHO or GF's SHO to the limit and have a fond recommendation for Amsoil based on your experience then I would be interested in hearing it. Sorry I still get some of yall mixed up, here we go again with yall being ******** for no reason. Sitting here having a discussion like adults and a couple people like zpac have to come **** in the ***. I have never claimed any performance of amsoil on my own car so idk why you're crying over that. You fanboys seem to VEHEMENTLY push this redline shit like yall are selling it or something. Im just putting my opinion out there based on what I see, im not sure why you guys gotta cry over it instead of having a discussion. All I've said is amsoil has been used by the vast majority of racing teams pretty much since the beginning of racing and still is.. you can't argue with that. Period.
On another note. I'd honestly like to hear why you think looking at oil thats been in there for 2k miles is even worth it? Was that 2k miles of only racing or something?

About the only cars that put serious wear on PTU’s!?

ok pal
AND using redline. Chill if you wanna sit at the big boy table, if your name was missed, speak up like an adult, instead of crying about who knows what

@802SHO she uses it to drive to and from work but i bought it. We've had it for like 2k miles, i swapped all fluids out for amsoil except atf about 1k miles ago right after I got the tune on the car and was racing i caused the ptu to overheat and burp. No issues since

Absolutely none of that report looks appealing or favorable to me. 26k miles of wear in 2,ooo miles? PASS. A blown PTU 2k miles after switching to it? PASS. No problems reported from a guy that drives his SHO 500 miles a month and changes each fluid at the end of every day? PASS.

Honestly sm105k mentions how he gets his redline on Amazon like 7 times a day, i feel like he must be selling it on Amazon and trying to get all of us to buy it

Where does he even say anything close to that at?
I see why you say all these people don't like you on here. What are you like 14?
I guess the forum got a virus.
