I recently took on the task of swapping my 3.0L for a 3.2L. Every thing mechanically works great but I have one problem. When I start the car and let it run at least one minute then however long after that and turn it off it will not start back up unless you push the pedal to the floor. So my guess it is flooding out. Also when I go to take off from a stop, it wants to flood out, It’s not bad when it cold but when it warmed up it wants to die real easy.

So if you have any thoughts let me know im trying to drive the car now so I need to get this resolved.

Thanks

my first thought is that one or more of the injectors are sticking open and leaking fuel into the engine.

did you use the 3.2 injectors or swap your 3.0 injectors when you did the engine swap? if you used the 3.2 injectors, was the engine sitting long? did you clean injectors at all?

I did use the 3.2L injectors but the engine did not sit real long maybe 3 or 4 months. But I think it is probably a good idea to have them cleaned, ill pull them out and try that first. Thanks for the help.

Are the 3.0L and the 3.2L injectors the same?

3.0 and 3.2 injectors are interchangeable. The 3.2 injectors flow very slightly more, but not enough to make a noticable difference. Have you pulled codes?

After sitting and staring at the car for hours I did figure it out. It was as simple as two bad grounding ground wires. I cleaned up the ends and now it runs and drives great. Thanks for all your help with this problem

Thanks

I cleaned up the ground on the back of the intake and the ground going to the fender well right off the cable. Those two seem to fix the problem. It is still running great.
