Bought a low mile all original 90 SHO, if you were at the convention in Denver you may have seen it....

Anyhow, one little item that needs fixing is the sliding coin tray does not latch and springs out 1/3 the way, the lower cup tray works fine.

Is there a fix without buying a new unit? I have the tools to remove ect but have yet to tear into it. I searched and found nada...

$5 at a junk yard. They are available if you go look. My car had the little cubby in it when I got it and I found a really nice one in the local JY. Look for one that has the single cup holder arm instead of the separate arms. Makes the world of difference.

SHOs never came with a coin tray they came with a cubby hole that has a door. The reason they never came with a coin tray is the shifter comes very close to the drink holder when in use. Only the SLOs came with the coin tray.

It's not technically a coin tray, but gen1's do have a coin holder (3 spring loaded slots) in console between the cassette tape holder and the drink holder/storage area under arm rest compartment. I believe you know this? This is what the thread/op is about.
