I'm planning on installing a 15mm hubcentric wheel spacer onto the rear wheel hub of my 94 SHO. I've cut the fender lip by about 13mm. The problem with this is the length of the wheel studs. Way too short. So, I need to find 10-15mm longer studs. I'm persuing to solutions to this:

1. Finding longer studs which have the correct knurl size so they will fit into the stock wheel hub. So far, I've been completely unsuccessful at finding such. Do you know where to get such studs?

2. I know that longer studs are available, but they also have larger knurl diameter. So that means to drill out the current holes in the wheel hub. Is this advicable, and can I do it myself with a good heavy duty drill and high quality drill bit?

Try NAPA. Someone once posted on the old Listquest or on the Topica list once that there is a stud about a 1/4" (6-7mm) longer from some Chrysler application that will work in the Taurus hub. Not sure if that is long enough for what your trying to do though.

Don't try to drill out the holes in the hub by hand. You can't be sure that the enlarged holes are in the same location as the current ones. This would result in the lug pattern being altered. Enlarging the holes should only be done in a fixture on a vertical CNC mill or drill where the holes can be properly indexed.
