First I have read a lot of threads on shoforum and the local strips (Byron) website.

Suspension bushings are good I replaced anything I didn’t feel comfortable with. I have replaced rear brake calipers, hoses, and pads 10,000 miles ago. The previous owner in the past 30,000 miles new front pads, most of "120k" (no water pump) struts (I am not sure of the brand they are blue)

Things on my to do list rod bearings (because everyone says to do them), moog cargo coils (saggy trunk), feel free to add here

What is normally needed for tech inspection? (Byron’s site had little info) I have a Snell 2000 helmet somewhere. How many passes do you run at a “test and tune”?

Will a pair of used 215/60/16 all seasons be ok or should I use some new ones? 20-25psi is what I am planning to run up front. Are Bridgestone Potenza g 009 any good for this I have 2 in great shape and 2 decent?

Plan on taking misc tools, chairs, floor jack, and an air tank, anything else?

This is my daily driver I am just looking to get my feet wet and try something new. I have rode motorcycles off-road all my life and raced the past 5 years (the most affordable motorsport by far) so I am aware of the costs involved long term and the real possibility of not being able to drive it home due to a mechanical failure.

Any advice appreciated

most tracks dont require you to wear a helmet till you break into the 13's. I wear one anyways because the car next to me might want to get into my lane.

Bring a cooler with a bag of ice in it and some towels...I have yet to be at a track where I didnt want to cool the motor off more than just a wait in line. I also find a spray bottle of water is nice as well.

Tires: I race what I know I dont care about wearing out. Had some all seasons once, used some wornout z rated BF's once. Whatever works. Wheel spin means you dont put a ton of shock on the clutch and since this is your DD, that is a good thing. I run low pressure in the front about 25-30psi, and about 40-45 in the rear. I have a jump box with a compressor on it to change pressures.

Best times are found when you relax and learn to launch correctly. I did see a very detailed write up on the forum once http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=67781&highlight=drag Either heat up the tires good, or stay out of the water box. Race yourself, not the guy next to you or you will get wrapped up in the moment.

Tools...basic stuff, plus a tire gauge and jump box if you have one. ditch the spare tire and jack, you could get wild and remove the rear seat and passenger power seat for lighter set ups, but in the end we are only talking about a 10th or 2.

Be careful and dont break stuff.

Byron is known to be one of the most lenient track as far as tech inspection goes. Route 66 is the one you worry about, but for a mostly stock car, you'll be waved in REAL fast.

Make sure you have a battery hold-down. I ditched the POS stock hold-down years ago and nearly failed tech-in at my first drag event because of it. (had to make a quick trip to AAP)

I have no guesses on what you ran because you didnt' tell us if it was a V-6 manual, automatic or if it is a V8. I will guess then but until then I have nothing to go off of.;)

Um, if you are a good driver I guess anywhere in between 15.2 and 15.8?

Man, thats almost identical to my first runs. I got it down to a 15.3 at 95mph before I did all the mods I currently have.

Not bad at all. Looks like you learn quickly! What were your 60' times? Those are the key.
