Fixing my Gen2 all around. The car had about 5 owners in the last 2 years. I talked to the previous owner about the suspension. It has been replaced 1-2 years ago by the owner before him. The car bottoms out bad because he put the wrong springs. The front is lowered substantially + very mushy springs = bad ride.

I did some reaserch and I think the struts are Monro-Matic Plus Strut all around

Can you guys confirm that these are in fact Matics? I'm planning to install intrax springs...

When the car sits (sub frame is about 3 1/2 inches off the ground) , the springs are very compressed. Seems like they are made for a Suburban not Taurus

Last thing.

After I purchased the SHO I discovered it had no antenna, and after inspecting the gaps in the front fender and I came to conclusion that the front , passenger fender was replaced (unpainted bolts, gaps, no antenna) for some reason (accident maybe, carfax clean)

Now there is this : http://imgur.com/shU00 :laugh_ti:

Why would anyone do this? As far I know camber can't be adjusted. How would I fix that and would this have anything to do with the replaced fender right next to it? :munch:

Thanks guys!

I dont know about the struts. As far asusing Intrax, the issue would be what struts to use. Koni's are not available new anymore. Most people say that sensatracs cant keep up with the spring rate, though I havent read about an abundance of failures with them. The real question is "What do you want out of the suspension? A comuter or something to throw through the twisties?".

As far as the camber plate....take out the strut and look underneath. If all looks okay then grind down the welds. I really have no idea why someone would do that.

Wow. Sounds like the previous owners owned honda's. Those are monroe matic struts, paired with b&g springs. If the car sits that low then the springs must be cut. Also i have no clue why someone would weld the plate in place. That is about ********.

Dont have a pic but its low. Any major dip on the highway and your bottom out like a mother... mushy as f$ck. Streets aren't as problematic. Either way I think I'm going with quick struts. There is not much to choose.

Sensatracs don't do a great job of keeping up with the stock springs, in my opinion.

quick struts have new springs that are a little too tall, so ride height is a little high with them.

most people (including myself) have had good experiences with Sensatracs.

I think my cat can weld better then that. Sensatracs hold up pretty well with intrax. So that's what I would run with your b&g springs.
