Lately, the engine has stalled when coming to a stop. After experimentation, I have the following to offer. 1. The problem manifests itself when I brake hard ie...come off the throttle, and immediately apply hard braking). 2. When coasting to a stop and applying only minimal brake pressure, I do not experience the stall. 3. I have followed SDPatts' idle reset procedure, to no avail. Could this be the result of a faulty speed sensor? If so, any suggestions on other tests, or other causes?

Thanks in advance, this is a great resource, and those of you who choose to share your knowledge are to be commended. thumbs_u

Try the cruise control. If it works, then the VSS (vehicle speed sensor) is most likely fine.

My bet would be the ISC/BPA valve.

Its job is to control idle including the dashpot function when the gas is let off of.

Run the KOER Quick Test and see if you get any ISC error codes.
