so my fan went **** on me and i needed a new fan so i got one from from a form member. the thing is its off a 94 and i have a 93 and i guess the connectors changed between those years (didn't know that when i bought it). furthermore the 94 fan has 3 wires where my 93 has 2. so my question is, is there any way i could get the 94 fan to work properly in my 93? could i just splice my old connector in there and leave 1 wire out or attach it to one of the other wires? im guessing that third with is for 2 speeds.

thanks

I believe that the fan needs to match the ccrm - if you get a matching ccrm for the 94 fan, you should be good.

But how would he hook that up? His wiring is still goign to be different.

Btw man if you do need a 94 ccrm I have one of them, or if you have someone local or something you would need the "D" code for a 94/95 mtx fan;)

From my experience w/ 93-95 cars, I believe that the output wiring is different on some of the ccrm's, which allows for the different fan wiring. In my current spare parts collection is a 93 mtx fan asm w/ 2-wire hookup and a 93 atx fan asm w/ 4-wire hookup. iirc, the fan connects to the pigtail from the ccrm.

yeah but the ccrm is stand alone, you mean the actual harness is different if I am understanding this correctly. Meaning he will need a 94 crm and 94 engine harness.
