Hi everyone, just seeking opinion.
I have Aluminium flywheel , 6 puck ceramic/kevlar clutch with stock PP and updated throw out bearing.
Let my friend drive my car for a month, since his 92 Accord got stolen, and now clutch is barely catching up uptop. It feels like as if disk would come back to flywheel very slow, because between shifting gears, if I wait a little slipping and chattering slowly moves to higher rpm.

My friend will be paying for work, that needs to be done to fix this problem, but I wanted to know what could be expected in this situation, what parts am I going to be buying for it.

I'd think that disc, with lower surface area of friction material, wouldn't last that long in a regularly driven application like yours. I'd stick with a stock disc.

Exactly. The clutch disc will grab better, but it wont last long in normal driving applications. I had some SHOnut pucked disc's in two different SHO's. Neither of them last 15,000 Miles under normal driving conditions, and when they went there was no real warning. They went from grabbing hard, to slipping in no time.

ok, so you guys say its the disk. I guess I'd better call the company and find out what's going on. Is there anybody out there using aluminium flywheel with turbo or Supercharger setup?

To be on the safe side, I'd have a new clutch kit on hand for when the work is done. Your plans for the car will dictate which clutch you should install.

The reason Why i wanted a clutch like that is because I street race sometimes and drive hard too.I also thought about going turbo or Direct port nitrous in the future. I was told that this disk should last me a lot longer than stock. Now, I want to put the car away for a little while for some work. I am almost positive I will go forced induction this time, but can't understand why I can't use aluminium flywheel though.

"lasts longer" is a relative term that directly relates to what you're doing with the car. Lasts longer in a dragstrip application than a stock clutch disc? Sure! Lasts longer on the street? As has been proven, no.

If it were me going to FI (which it's not, and probably won't ever be), I'd rather have a stock or lightened stock flywheel to handle the abuse I'm planning on dishing out. Maybe there's other reasons, but that'd be my main one.

An extremely lightweight Flywheel with a real heavy duty clutch makes these are almost unbearable to drive. With a blower they don't seem to like to idle very well with such a light flywheel and i've seen a few complaints with turbo guys that 1st gear spools up way to quick with such a light flywheel.

A stock flywheel will just last longer with a HD clutch. Buy a stage 3/4 southbend and call it a day.

Me? I use a stock Clutch in my track car. But I have a lot less weight. =)

You cannot use an aluminum flywheel with a stage 3 pressure plate.
The pressure plate is too stiff and will slightly bend the flywheel causing slow shifting.

This X2; you'll really like how well it will drive, when you get the puck out.:naughty:

I am waiting for the same company to call me back with their idea of a much better clutch for me this time. I kinda complained to them, so they are going to try harder this time. I have that light biller flywheel, I think from SHOSHOP, that I will have lightened slightly more and will replace my aluminium with.

They failed the last time; the labor is not trivial and you don't want to do it a 3rd time. I'd listen to those above who know from experience.

CLutchmasters failed 3 times on 3 different shos in 3 different ways. Sasch failed once, LUk failed 2 times. I will pull it off and see what really happened, but I , also, cannot say for sure it wasn't driver's fault, because it failed while my friend was driving my car, and that ******* likes to get drunk and go for more beer. SO I would not say just yet, that clutch was poorly made.
And yes! I wouldn't want second and third time.

hmmm......You may have just answered your own question. Friends dont let a-hole friends drive other friends SHO on drunken run to the liquor store.

This.

Also, about the company you got the clutch from. If you gave them actual specs on what your plans were with the car, and they sold you this disc, I wouldn't be going back to them. That's a race-only disc.

I'd be looking at Josh's HDPP kit if I were you, and perhaps change driving techniques a little. Sounds like you're a little ******* the clutch.
