I'm a little late to the party, but I would also be interested in a factory tune even if it were just 30-50hp. I think everyone would also agree it would need to retain the factory warranty as well.

Tune safe for Ford

My source is a Ford employee, I mentioned having a new SHO and questioned the aftermarket tunes out there and his eyes lit up then he mentioned the blown engines they were getting back and told me to hold on for their tune.

I will get more details when he comes thru the race shops again.

HI,
New guy, hello all. I think if ford is seeing blown engines you wont like the new tune it will not be for more power. (mho)

I think the Ford guy may have been talking about blown engines *with an aftermarket tune*. Ford can make a calibration that ups output while babying the weak pieces (say, torque manage while shifting, or fatten the fuel curve a little if they are blowing up due to a lean spot, watch the knock sensors a little more agressively - whatever the issue is). They just add enough to the price of the "off road" tune to pay for any increased warranty and still make a profit. OEMs make performance enhancements available all the time in this way.
