I'm looking to add on a remote start to my 2010 SHO. I'm thinking of just going factory...I assume this is an option? Would it come with a new key FOB with the button built in etc? Any direction would be great. Gonna start looking around online here...

as I recall, for that vintage there was an additional small fob that has the start button.

I installed a long range factory remote on my wife's '13 F150 last year and it was worth every penny. I hate the fact that the factory remote starts that are part of the key fob are weak as **** and have no real range. Her truck will start from 200 yards easily (outside of course). I have to be like 20 yards for my SHO to work. I would upgrade the remote start on my SHO but it's just not in the cards right now.

Don't skimp out, get the better long range ones at a min. and if you really need to know if it started then up it to the bi-directional.

Just my $.02. :)

The 2010 Taurus does not use a "plug and play" remote start. The Ford remote start is a hardwired one. The 2013+ Taurus and the 2013 F-150 use a totally different remote start kit that is plug and play and simple to install.

For the OP with the 2010...do yourself a favor and go with an reputable aftermarket remote start such as Viper, etc.
