Just doing some research and I was hoping you guys would post what clutch your using and have used, how many miles you have put on them, and how you would rate them. Thanks a lot, Chris.

Toolman, Tony and I have the SHO Shop Race Clutch. Many miles and no slippage between all of us.

Clutchmasters supplies SHO Shop clutches.

I use the Hi Revs Race clutch as well, love it, no issues to speak of except the Schwarzenegger Pedal Feel.

That is soo true. I delegated ThunderSHO/Race clutch as a weekend car. Was using it as a daily driver but traffic has gotten so bad my left leg was twice as big as the right leg.

I kept walking in circles.

Ok. Well, I'm pretty much down to 2 clutches. The Hi Revs Race from ShoShop or the Spec Stage 4 from SP Motorsports. Anyone use the latter clutch before? I would like a lighter pedal feel but I definitely don't want any slippage. Basically I want to have my cake and eat it too! :D Thanks for the input guys.

My daily driver has a 9 puck fibertuff clutch in it, and after about 20k miles it is starting to act up a little. It still has some life in it but it definitly isn't as 'grabby' as it used to be. I don't think I'd buy it again.

My FI car has a Spec 6 puck clutch in it. I've only driven the car maybe 800 miles so far, but I like it so far. It doesn't like to slip off the line very much, but it's been holding my 325fwhp with no problems at all. And like you mentioned, the pedal feel is very light and comfy.

Just my $.02 ... actually probably more around $800...

Just DO NOT ever buy a factory reman or OEM, I wish I had bought SHO shop, I bought a new one in November and the pressure plate shattered last month.

The SHO SHOP (and any aftermarket SHO clutch supplier) uses the same exact plate as OEM (ford/valeo), they all do as it's the only one you can get. The twin spring clutches add an additional spring, and most of the HD ones use bigger drive straps, but otherwise, it's the same exact plate as OEM.

Hmmm, I seem to remember the SPEC clutch from James Pappas' car being a different plate Mark. I'm reaching in the memory, but as I recall it was different. Also, the Stage 4 from IPT was a totally different disc - 4 pucks, different metal plate from memory. I have pics of it somewhere on the machine here, from when Eric Steidinger pulled it out at 3k miles. Maybe he's got some handy too.

got a pic?

yeah, most of the aftermarket units use a different/custom disc, but I can assure you the plate was the same. I can't imagine anybody tooling up to make an oddball design/size plate for a low volume car like the SHO.

At the risk of sounding stupid, by plate you mean pressure plate right? The pic on the SP Motorsports website looked like a different plate but I don't know for sure. SPEC Clutch

Those are stamped steel plates, like the one used on the early 9.25" SHO's. The 9.75" later one for the SHO is cast, very heavy, stiff. Most cars use a stamped steel plate, those pics are for something else (I think they are showing the disc, more than the PP).

Do any of you guys with the 6-puck clutches get any type of clutch chatter noises?
