Here's a question for all the electrical genius' out there.
I have been trying to switch over all of my exterior lamps from incandescent bulbs to LED bulbs. I have amber 194 LED bulbs in the front side marker lights, amber 3157 LED bulbs in the front parking/turn lights, and red 3157 LED bulbs in the taillights.
1. When in this configuration, my CHMSL illuminates at half power and won't shut off.
2. My cruise control will not work when the headlights are on.
3. When I use a turn signal or my hazard lights, they blink obnoxiously fast.
4. The damn "lamp out" dash indicator comes on.
shrug
I have tried installing load equalizers (6ohm 50 watt) across the ground wire and the turn signal wire, but they don't seem to work right, along with getting extremely hot.
shrug
Someone told me that I could simply cut off the 3157 sockets and wire in plain 1157 sockets, but I don't really want to start cutting and hacking unless I have to, plus, I don't know if the 1157 sockets will mate up to the lens housing correctly.
HELP!!!
PS
I just got in the house from working on this issue for the past 4 hours. I finally gave up and am going to sleep on it to see if I can get some divine guidance during my slumber. thumbs_u
