Hi, i just purchased my first sho! its a 1992 mtx and i just gave it back to the owner because the motor mounts were rotted and so was the frame, so i just bought another SHO lol, anyways its a 1995 mtx (question does the 95 mtx have a 3.2 stock? owner seems to think so) and it has 173xxxkm on it and isnt rotted out lol. but i ordered taylor 8.2mm plug wires already for the 92 and was wondering if they will fit on the 95? also ive been looking at some simple mods and i was gonna purchase, stage 3 ported intake from shosource, BBBs, 80mm MAF, 63mm TB, 2.5 inch y-pipe (that counts as high flow right?) a chip for the maf with an e-mail tune from a good tuner from steeda. what would all that net me roughly? would i notice a difference? and also i was just gonna give it the fluid changes, replace timing belt and check the shims, would that be enough for maintenance? the guy im buying it off of sold a 89 SHO which he put 565xxxkm on and he said all he did was change the oil so im assuming what im doing for the belt and shims is fine? sorry for all the questions (i like asking them) and if you guys could answer all these that would be great! thanks

Stock the 95 mtx has a 3.0. The wires should fit fine. Intake and bbb should give you about 8hp, y pipe 11hp, mind you all these can vairy. I wouldnt worry about the tb unluss your turboing or supercharging otherwise its a waste of money. Well if you dont know the history i think it would be better off doing everything matenence wise before you start modding it.

The maintence sounds like a good idea. Timing belt, gaskets, vaulve adj. Throw the mods on while u perform the maintence. Those mods should net you about 20-30chp total depending mostly on that tune. U will definalty feel the extra pep esp. in the top end and would easily put the car in the 14's@ around 95mph. U could skip the chip and just go with a drop in maf. It would be easier than the e-mail tune.

yea but i figured the tune will net me more efficiency in the top end would it not?but what good is a 80mm MAF if i dont get a bigger TB? and i read on the shoshop that the Y-pipe is good for 11hp, BBBs good for 10hp and ported intake good for 10hp right? also i read that if i get the high flow Y-pipe, i shouldnt get a 2.5 inch exhaust because ill lose the low end? and if i could find a vortech supercharger kit i would go with that, but the shoshop doesnt make them anymore i think and i havent found any online. if anyone knows about those kits and how reliable they make the car let me know, thanks again for helping me with my questions.

btw what gaskets should i change for maintenance?

the 65mm TB flows fine for any sho. gains with a 69mm yes but not really worth the money for 1-3hp. those numbers are just a guideline and do alot better when istalled together in all reality.

for boost look up northtexasperformance.com. But boost cost money so don't be surprised.

ooo and if your wondering about maint and gaskets to change there a search feature which covers all this. There is so much info on here that ur mind will boogle. FYI Some threads might not show up b/c the forum recently crashed and some stuff was lost.

Hey , where in ON are you?

BTW number of HP gains on shosource may involve previous mods that was done before , so all these numbers dont always add up.

ROD BEARINGS! do research and change them.. no one else thinks its a big deal they rather **** their engine due to rod bearing failure.. $60 and 2 hours of time is a good way to save a engine
