im just curious what could be done different with exhaust, i was trying to figure out if it was possible to get it to sound like a stang and i think i found how. with a muffler in the middle of the car with the exhaust from there to the rear of the car. i found a youtube that kinda sounds like it but it just ends at the muffler.

I have a v6 SHO, but I've had some experience with the v8 cars(I'm going to be in the market for one soon, hopefully). But you v8 guys are at huge advantage for having cool sounding exhaust because v8s sound awesome anyway. But DOHC v8s sound especially awesome. And your cars can sound sick! Any muffler that makes other v8s sound aggressive will work for your car. The only thing you'll have to deal with is the physical size of the muffs because of clearance. I personally like chambered muffs like Flowmasters, but baffled ones like Dynomax sound cool too. It's just a matter of personal preference. When I get a 3rd gen., I'm ging to try and dig up a pair of Borla Stingers 'cause cobras sound bad ass! Good luck!

I have Borla ProXS mufflers on my car. I like them, they are somewhat loud in person. Doesn't really show up too much on youtube. But any muffler will sound good (from what I've seen)

Search for NebraskaSHO on youtube. It's there.

Flowmasters with a resonator delete will sound by far the best. Thats what I ran on my car.

i would but thats ******** loud and i dont wanna have my wife complain about it or **** off all the retired neighbors that occupie the rest of my dead end street. i dont mind kinda loud but wide open would be way loud lol.

think theres enough room for a muffler in the middle of the exhaust instead of the rear?

My Borla's are loud enough inside the car. I'm getting different tastes, would not have put them on now. But the Stainless Steel is nice, 5 years and not a spot of rust.

When I had mine apart, I noticed that the tops of the original mufflers are beginning to go, so I am going to start looking about for some replacements. I think Flowmaster 40s sounded like the way to go from the various discussions of this I have heard go past. I would not mind a bit more sound, but do not want it getting loud, so thanks for the word about the Borlas.

I had Bullet Pro Turbos on it before one of the welds went on the pipe. It was quiet inside the car, but outside you could tell something was up. They now collect dust inside the garage. They sounded good with the stock tips welded on.

I had a Magnaflow 6x9 oval race type muffler and associated piping to adapt the stock to 3 inch. I had to cobble something together as my inspection ran out in 3 days and I needed the car. I ended the tip slightly farther then my bumper ends. It seems that everyone who complains about how loud it is in the car ends them too far forward of the bumper and you get resonance. It's loud, but a good loud. I get compliments on the look and sound of the car all the time, even if my muffler is a bit riceballish. Not changing it now though. Been that way for years now. It's a pleasure to stand by when someone leaves in it.

Both were with all stock cats and resonator.

It will never sound like a Mustang though.

Stephen, I'm not discrediting the sound. It is a really good sound. I just have different tastes now, and am kind of numb to them.

But if someone else gets in, they get all excited about the sound. So that's cool.

yea kinda the same here, flowmasters seem to be a bit to harsh for the car imo. magnaflows seem to be the best ive heard on youtube yet. i dont really have any SHO guys here in louisville for me to hear there exhaust (there is the one guy but he is running no mufflers and thats just way to loud for me).

I have a set of JBA muffles from a 05-09 mustang gt. They sound nice idle and at cruising speed. Everyone that has heard me go by say they sound nice, I havent gotten to heard what they sound like at full song.

No, they are aftermarket. But they are a direct fit for the stang. Actually they fit rather well under my SHO. I actually got them used off Ebay last summer.
