I want to swap my exhaust unit with a lower mileage exhaust unit in great shape. The only difference is, the lower mileage one has a flex pipe, mine does not. Will it swap directly to my '92? How about the hangers, whats holding the exhaust unit in place, 3-4 rubber mount hangers?

Thanks

If it has a flex pipe, then it more than likely is from an ATX SHO and not an MTX. I don't know whether or not it will fit in an MTX, but I wanna say that it will be slightly too long, since the 3.2l sits further forward than the 3.0L does.

I think the rear hangers are the same however.

Its from an atx with an mtx resonator and recently new mufflers. Can anyone verify this if it will bolt up fine?

Thanks

I think the front exhaust manifolds are different between ATX and MTX. That would mean the two points where the Y pipe connects to the manifolds are a different distance apart. I'm not the least bit positive on this, can anyone verify it? Also, the Y pipes are different under the oil pan, the wrong pipe may hit the oil pan. Do some research first to be sure.

Well I figured that, the engine blocks are basically identical. The only main differences on exhaust setup is, the y-pipe and the rear exhaust manifold for an atx. The atx has an egr connection on the rear exhaust manifold. In this case, I have an mtx already, wasnt sure if it the catback was identical, i think it is, just cant find any topic on it.

I don't see why it shouldn't fit, worse come to worse, just replace the flex pipe with a shorter unit it its too long/short a couple of inches. Muffler shops shoud have those on hand....
