I'm gearing up to swap a 1990 mtx into a 91 ranger. I know wiring is gonna be a nightmare, I'm looking forward to cutting the firewall etc. Please, I don't need to hear again how bad of an idea this is (lol)

Anyways. I can't make exhaust. Should my rangers y pipe bolt to the manifolds on the sho? If not is there adapter plates sold anywhere for a good set of headers? The 3.0s don't have any that aren't discontinued as far as I've seen

No, the SHO manifolds are set up for a front drive platform, so those will not match up with your y-pipe. I don't recall if the old Ranger 3.0 manifolds bolt on to the SHO heads or not, but they are not likely to flow enough air even if they do, so I think you are looking at custom fab work on the manifolds too.

I agree. You will likely need custom exhaust. There are some options but I can't find the old threads.

I would contact Off Road SHO. Tom has/had SHO powered dune buggy stuff running and probably knows someone who has had to deal with exhaust issues. Just track him down and send him a message through the forum.

I know Lupo was running a SHO powered truck a while ago for jumping and crazy stuff but I don't know how to reach him. I think there was a memeber that had this swap but that is all foggy.

Also maybe a search at therangerstation or another Ranger board could get some info
