I noticed that the paper heat shield that runs from the cats to the rear axle has come loose on my 94. If I remove this will it cause any problems getting to much heat to the bottom side of the car? It is pretty much torn up and I can not see anyway of attaching it back to the car. I tried to glue it but it will not stick. Any ideas?

It can be fixed. Mine did the same thing yesterday. It came up. I thought about just ripping mine off too but My car is going in for inspection on wednesday and i don't want to fail it b/c i dont have a heatshield on my cat. Besides, they're there for a reason. I'd just get it fixed. Take it to an exhaust place. I've had mine repaired before.
It's annoying as ****. Embarassing too. Driving around in a nice looking car with this rediculous vibration coming from underneath your car. Good Luck

I tried repairing mine on several occasions, but ended up removing the entire mess as it fell apart over the miles. It just became to brittle to keep attached to the underbody. I have not noticed any effects of the added heat in the passenger compartment, but then, I rarely spend any time in stop and go traffic. I'm sure the cooling effect of normal travel speeds will prevent any appreciable heat transfer to the floorboards. The resonator in the Borla system in my car is only about 1/2" from the bottom of the tunnel and there wasn't any room for the shield anyway.
