Hey everyone! I am considering upgrading my down pipes and exhaust then throw a tune on. What was everyone choices for exhaust. I like the Corsa system but it carries a hefty price tag. I was thinking of just doing the downpipes and replacing my mufflers.

Downpipes and mufflers is a very respectable way to go. You can gain 17 hp or so just from the downpipes. I don't know if the Dynomax mufflers are still available, but they sound pretty good. The Corsa catback is one of the best sounding systems I have heard, quiet in cruising, but wakes up when you get on it.

AFAIK, 2013+ parts should fit the 2015. This is "book knowledge", as I don't know of anyone that has actually updated their exhaust on a 2015 (warranty reasons primarily).

Dynomax should still be making axle back for our cars. I have those, 3rd cat delete, downpipes going on soon. Love the sound, not tinny or raspy. It was hard pill to swallow for the downpipes, really don't see the benefit with what else I did.

Have you had the downpipes put on yet, Brian? Do they have high-flow cats (like the PPE & LME units do), or are they cat-less? Pix please :) Also, the gains I referred to are pre-tune, so when the tuner accounts for the downpipes, you should see even more performance benefits.

Downpipes aren't on yet, probably wont be till mid Fed till I get them installed, also doing retro fitting oil cooler at the same time. They are LME catted downpipes. I'm sure with the 4X tune adjusted for the downpipes I will def notice a difference. I did with just having the 3rd cat removed. I take any pics of the DP's yet Manu.

Hey guys, just to weigh in here...
A set of our race catted Downpipes when tuned will add around 15hp. Now a catback, even our performance tuned Thunderstorm CB will only gain 3-5hp.
If you are looking for performance, save the money for the catback and invest in:

Tuner
Thermostat
Downpipe
PLUS
Intake
3BAR MAP Sensor
Plugs

PS we have installed this kit on a few 15 SHO's already.

The entire package that I laid out above will run you roughly $800 CHEAPER than tuner, DP and CB!
The best part of it all is that the kit that I put together for you will be far more powerful than the tune for just the DP and CB setup!

I did a custom exhaust and went with magnaflow mufflers. I was very impressed sounds awesome and I went from a 14.2 stock quarter to a 13.9 before I was tuned after the exhaust. Not sure if it was elements for the exhaust but sounds great.

Hey Redbusah, Do you by chance have a video or audio file we could hear of your custom exhaust? Im currently looking into getting a custom one done for way cheaper than online, even though i love the corsa exhaust from certain websites, just over the price i would want to spend. I was looking into the magnaflow one also, but from what others say the corsa brand sounds better, deeper. Thanks

I tried to take a sound clip but it doesn't do it any justice. It sounds similar to a v8 with a factory exhust. Very deep. No raspiness. In my option it sounds better than the corsa full exhuast. It's not very loud very little drone. Very deep powerful sound

Not a fan of Corsa. They are really loud. I would go with Magnaflow.

Would you mind sharing exactly what you did? I have a local shop that does great work and I like to support. Not sure I want to drop over $1k for a box kit like Corsa, etc. Thank you!!

Hey "Calgary", do we own the same car (same year and colour)? I am in Calgary as well and am in the works of getting tuning and such done. In response to your Corsa/Dynomax question, from what I have read there is drone with the axle back Dynomax. The Corsa is pricey (I called over 15 parts dealers between Edmonton and Calgary and the cheapest was Prostock in Edmonton at 1950. The cheapest Magnaflow was Part Source in Calgary at 1050 (steal of a deal).

I just bought the Corsa off of online (Amazon) and you can pick it up at the Border in Montana. I paid 1255 USD, roughly about 1570 CAD. They charge 20 bucks to recieve it and you pick it up. Since Corsa is made in the USA, it falls under NAFTA which means it is exempt from duties. You simply just pay 5% AB sales tax and its yours for $1650. I promise you it doesnt get any better than that unless you wait for the CAD to go up.

Hey Calgary, new account - same guy. Email troubles.

I got the last one off Amazon for that price, but there is one for 1295 USD. See link below:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0048CNIR8/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Remember not to use .ca, use .com for the american pricing.

I am going with LMS, I looked heavily into both and LMS seems honestly just easier, better reviewed and simply just more of them out there. I should have it in a few weeks I hope. My exhaust well be at the cross border depot this week, I will try to plan to go get everything at once.

It is called Kinek, go to Kinek.com and simply make an account with an email. They give you an address to ship to, you order it, pay and ship it and then drive over the border to pick it up. They charge $4 to $20 USD per item shipped (depending on weight) and you pay that when you pick it up. Then you drive back to Canada and pay the PST on it. There is no duty on it since it is made in NA and under NAFTA.

Regardless of the dollar being lower, you still save a pant load of money. Especially on the tuner packages too. But remember the tuners are not made in NA so you have "pay" duty on it. :p
