THere is so much steam coming off it, are you sure there is a leak there? To answer you r question, yes there is a graphite gasket that goes between the two pieces there, looks like this http://www.autozone.com/emission-co...t-******-gasket/276296_902190_0?checkfit=true

and, yes they do wear out due to normal motor movement so its not necessarily a sign that anything else is wrong, but I would check the motor mounts to make sure the motor is not moving too much.

has the pipe been repaired before? it looks like newer steel for a couple inches after the spring joint.
when replacing the donut gasket chip off all the old rust 'n stuff. it needs to fit properly for a good seal.

Take those two spring bolts loose, and change the exhaust donut seal that's in there. There are two different ones available. Felpro PN 60641 is easy to find, less expensive, and they are junk, in my experience. Walker PN 31372 is the good one; harder to find, but I've found it to be much more reliable. If you can't find it locally, you can order from Rockauto.com. Your spring bolts look good, but in case you want to replace them, it's Walker PN 36129 (kit of 2) or Dorman 675205 (sold each).
