Ok I go and pick my 94 MTX up from the auto body shop after not having it a week. It got hit on the front drivers side. Well it looks incedible. New hood, bumper, left front quarter, and driver door. Everything is freshly painted and shiny. So i start it up and i hear Puff puff from under the drivers door. It was the exhaust leak i had before i dropped the car off. It is right after the Y pipe where it comes together at the ****** where it meets the cingular pipe before the resonator. But when i drive it lurches and stutters and is low on power. it kinda pops now and then at low RPM. could all this be caused by the leak. I am picking up the part from lappens within the hour. I am just hoping that when it is fixed its the only thing wrong. Any Suggestions as t what else it could be?

Thanks

Matt

The ONLY time I've ever experienced lurching/stuttering is when I had oil or water in the plug wells which also ruined a spark plug/spark plug wire or two. I have 260k on my 89. wink

The leak is from the donut gasket at the cat ******. You can get these for around $4-5. This leak won't do anything to the dirveability of the engine except make noise. You must have an ignition leak (probably wires) to cause the popping. That can only be done by a spark crossfire (or heaven forbid, an intake valve not closing, but that would happen consistently at all revs and power levels).
