I bought the dynomax kit from summit. I have the stocker off and it went with the trash today.

I think I have the mufflers situated aside from fine tuning their angles. What I don't get is the long mostly straight pipe with the resonator in it. It appears to be too long. I took the flex pipe off and its still too long. The ****** does not look like it will mount to the one on the y-pipe next to the cat and to get it to fit in front I have to force the rest of the system to the rear which then puts one of the bend up against the fuel tank. That does not seem right.

Whats wrong?

All the stock stuff is gone, in the trash. (picked up already).

It does not look warped, just too long.

My latest thought is this, cut about half an inch off, then check and cut more if needed to get it shorter, cutting off the rear section where there is no ******.

A new question is has anyone had problems with the ****** where it mounts to the cat section not sealing and what not? What have you used to make it seal?

If it really is wrong and the cat-back to Y-Pipe connection is ***** you might want to simply replace the ****** connection with a flex pipe and get some sort of ****** connection so you can still break them apart for routine maint.

I deff do not want to just weld it on, I want to be able to service things later if needed.

I went to Advanced Auto and had them pull the gasket that goes on this section of pipe, they showed a round one? I picked one up to try, after I cut the pipe down to give the system some flex room. I was thinking of the more standard oval with two bolt holes so this looks to make more sense, perhaps.

Nope sure as crap they sent me the MTX system.

Go figure.

At any rate its in place and seems to be ok. I maybe rig up a couple of extra hangers but don't really think it needs them. I cut about an inch off the pipe that bends over the rear suspension and that gave me room to put the gasket in the resonator pipe and fit it up to the cat pipe. The flex pipe is now gone on mine.

Why does it need the flex pipe?

I have no boxes for this system anymore, when putting the first sections in I got caught in the rain and it all got soaked.

The motor moves back and forth a little. You should have somewhere in the exhaust for the movement to take place. (flex pipe or dough nut gasket)

The gasket I used to go between the cat pipe (where the flex pipe was) and the resonator pipe was shaped like a round beveled piece. That is what the auto store showed as the correct gasket for the car so I picked one up...it seemed to fit ok.

Ok but I don't think the ATX y-pipe is designed to hold such a gasket. But I could be wrong. Does a part of the pipe extend beyond the ****** on the ATX y-pipe? The gasket is supposed to mount on this place.

No your right, the ATX does not have that "lip" that the MTXs' y pipe has. Im curious on how the gasket is staying put..

It had a small lip, not much but enough that when I tightened things down it all seems secure.
