Hey all. New here and need some help. We have had a '93 for 13 years and have had very good luck with it. The stock mufflers finally rusted out and need to be replaced. I would like to get a cat-back system but not sure which one to get. I am looking for best fit and quality. This is the wife's car and she drives it everyday so not looking to shave off a tenth in the quarter. Thanks for any help.

Or buy some all-welded seamless mufflers from Summit for about $30 each, and go to a muffler shop and have them install them with new piping to the front. Should be considerably less than the price of the cat-back system.

Yeah, but it won't be stainless. Salt = must-go-stainless.

Or you can order a Dynomax cat-back and the MNSHOC boy's will come over and help install it for free. It's a direct bolt up system I have it on mine and it took maybe 35 minutes to install. Check out the Minnesota section in SHO CLUBS! Or click here MINNESOTA SHO CLUB

Tim's custom exhaust in **** Rapids. He did my 3" mandrel bent exhaust with a Magnaflo muffler for $350. That's about the same as a dynomax kit. Or call MNSHOC.

I bought the Dynomax/Walker Cat-back system. Be forewarned...it does NOT come with the flexpipe; and incidently my flexpipe was wasted.
The flexpipe is not cheap ($125+) and neither is the carbide drill bit I had to purchase($18 for one drill bit) to drill out the converter ****** bolts to install the new flexpipe. And don't forget the gasket either.

I would look closely at the cross over pipe and the resonator pipe, because they are usually still intact. I don't know what the original exhaust system is made of, but it lasts a life time.
I bought flowmaster 40 series mufflers (supposedly stainless) and have never touched it again, and I am in the biggest rust-belt you can imagine. Put the money in the mufflers, as they are at the end of the system, never really warm up, and if not first class, will rot out first.

Once thing I did on my aluminized Dyno-Max cat-back was to paint the whole system with black Dupli-Engine paint. I've done this before with exhaust pipes on my race cars and it works fairly well. The farther away from the cats that you get-- the better it adheres.
I know paint isn't the be-all/end-all of corrosion/rust prevention- but it's better than nothing- and cheaper than stainless!
Cheers!

FWIW, my Dynomax system fit like a well tailored glove!! I couldn't be happier. The hangers lined up perfectly; as did all the joints. The whole job went seamlessly!
(I also replaced the flexjoint pipe too)

Out in front!
MTX kit do not fit so well . I mean don't get me wrong you can put it on in like an hour and it uses factory hangers buuuuuuuuuttttttt it rattles against the shifter . Sound is "not so good" . That said . I'd buy it again for a factory style replacement if i needed one . Can't beat the price .

dyno max has rasp, it does hit the shifter sometimes and one exit pipe sits lower than the other. Id try to find a used borla. Stainless and sounds great. Plus it runs duals farther back than dyno max
