Well, I'm stumped on something as simple as replacing one of the factory rubber exhaust hangers. The original hanger located right in front of the driver side tension strut rod has split and it's hanging by just half of the original rubber. I've tied it up temporarily to hopefully prolong the remaining life.

My question is in regards to removing the "pin" that holds the upper portion of the rubber hanger to the hanger bracket. The factory manual lists this on page 26-10-6, View Y. I have a replacement rubber hanger but am at a loss for removing the pin. Can this pin be removed? Do I need to remove the entire bracket in order to do so? Any advice is appreciated.

By "pin" do you mean the part that goes through the hanger?

They're hard, but spray some ****, get a screwdriver, and you can pull the rubber hanger off the metal piece. You really have to work it sometimes.
I've never had to pull the metal piece off the car.

No, take a look at this particular bracket. It's not the same as the other 3 hangers that allow for the rubber piece to be slipped on and off. This bracket has what appears to be a pin holding the rubber hanger in place. I'm questioning whether or not just the rubber piece can be replaced or if the entire bracket assembly is one piece. I'm not having any luck attempting to remove just the rubber hanger. Any thoughts? I was hoping someone might have their own experience with this one. The manual is quite vague and I haven't had enough time to go ahead and remove the entire bracket.

I think they all come off without removing the brackets. I remember one that the hanger still slid onto, but not much else, it's been awhile.

If it has a bolt or nut spray it good w/ wd-40 and take the bracket off the car. Then maybe you can work it with more room.

Sorry I can't be more help, I don't mess with the exhaust too much..

Thanks for the replies. When I find time, I'll plan on removing the entire bracket and going from there. I would hope to be able to figure it out if it's on a work bench vs. laying flat on my back with only a few inches of room to spare. Thanks again.
