Exhaust gaskets

So I've done some searching and came up with conflicting answers.

Is there a gasket that goes between the Y-Pipe and the exhaust manfold?

The reason I ask is because after I rebuilt my engine I put a bit of oil in the cylinders and I had smoke boiling up from the left and right sides of my engine. Maybe I didn't have the pipes aligned correctly?

Also, should I put some anti-seize on the studs?

No gasket between the exhaust manifolds and y-pipe.
