since you have an mtx perhaps you could stick a siphon hose in the little access hole in your timing cover and suck it out that way? shrug

i defer to the others on this one but its just an idea that comes to mind. let us know how you get it out.

There is a drain path molded into the lower timing cover to let out any oil or coolant that leaks in there. The drips show up at the very bottom of the cover and usually end up on the front bank catalytic converter. No need to take any additional action except to prevent the fluid from being introduced into the timing covers in the first place.

What happens if I just let it stay in there until it dries out on it's own?
It will do exactly what you just stated.
Any excess will drain out of the cover.
