Wanting to open a discussion on what people have tried regarding ethanol blends and what success/issues you've had with them.
Started my life out with E30 tuning on the SHO, keeping an eye on fuel pressure but seeing them drop to ~1400psi on shifts but always recovering pretty quickly. Managed to see 16 psi and ~23 degrees of timing consistently at 0.82 lambda to handle fueling.
Then installed the XDI-35 fuel pump and have fuel pressure at 2700 psi, ran E35 with 18 psi and ~25 degrees of timing.
Every time the discussion comes up about running greater fuels, everyone always runs away screaming that you need to have an XDI-60, fuel injectors and an upgraded LPFP in order to sustain E85 with any pressure.
Currently experimenting with E60, car is currently commanding 2900 psi with pressure falling to around 2600 psi on shifts but recovering quickly. Seeing 18 psi and 27 degrees of timing at the top of each gear. Car is loving it, picked up 0.3 seconds on draggy with it compared to E30, and it's much less of a hassle than finding a station with both good E85 AND good 91 (don't have 93 readily available here yet).
Everyone always says "well this tuner says..." when ethanol comes up, but I never see any hard data, especially with the advancements in tuning as of late. We run a modified VCT profile that I think has helped greatly, and reduced a lot of the strain on the system for fuel demands.
Currently running 0.85 lambda below 4500 rpm and then tapering to 0.82 at the top end.
Would like to hear what others are seeing, if even generalized if you don't want to share your secrets.
