Finally got the eq added to my 95. Also added the two way design ford jbl speakers from a thunderbird, to the rear seat in my sho. For anyone who has seen a factory jbl rear seat taurus speaker, you'll know they are a single way speaker with a tiny magnet. the thunderbird speakers are a nice two way design and are exactly the right size. You'll need to trim the sound proofing, but the drop right in perfectly.

Those look very similar/same as the front speakers from my '97 Explorer with JBL.

They probably are. It seems like all the JBL stuff was very interchangeable. I think the town car speakers are very similar too.

Fair question.

1 I hate aftermarket decks, they are too complicated. I know sounds lame, but I like the fact that I can figure out and use every feature on these decks with out needing a book to figure them out.

2 I am a purist, so I will only do mods that look stock, or are not obvious. Now speakers, I would usually be ok with changing out, but I actually think that the JBL stuff sounds pretty decent, and for their time were actually fairly well constructed speakers (sub is iffy, but is 20 years old, so....) and since I am not looking to win any car audio competitions it's fine by me.

3. It's kinda fun to see what you can make out of junkyard parts, I spent alot less on these parts all together, than on one set of aftermarket speakers for the front doors or back seat. I think the eq and speakers was around $20-25 bucks. I would have to go check the receit.

Just a quick observation...

I'm almost 100% positive that if you swapped the front 6x8s to the rear and put the 2 ways up front you'd get much better sound overall. Then again, I've got 4 speakers mounted up front with absolutely no rear fill and am convinced that you wouldn't be able to tell unless you were trying to.

All of Tommy's stuff is super clean, showroom nice, and all stock. His turbo Dodges are the same way. Even his house is OEM lol.

thanks for the compliments Sean.
You haven't seen my works in progress hidden in the back yard, they aren't quite as showroom perfect, lol. But I am fortunate to have a few really clean rides.

As for the house, I painted almost all the inside since you were by, it's no longer oem white track house everywhere.

I still got to get to the yard, one day.
