so, ultimately this engine is destined for my wagon and i don't exactly have any money, well i do but it comes in ridiculously slow (school+job=no money)

engine has 214,000 KM on it and doesn't seem to of been taken very good care of, when i took it out of the car it ran good. the original owner said it smoked/burned oil or something, however it did not do anything in the little bit i drove it around (15min/half hour most) Engine in wagon works fine but thats not the point.

Ultimately my question is should i service this engine like it deserves and put it in or should i just get it back together drop it in and slowly build up a new engine while this one dies.

or maybe ive been reading these forums way to much. :nut:

here are a pic of the cams and the gaps, i think the cams are worn, but i don't know if they are bad or not.

yeah that engine looks great inside, looks like it definitely had regular oil changes. What makes you think the cams are worn? Sure its not the shims?
