Is the wiring harness that runs from IRCM - computer - injectors the same on all MTXs through the years?

Oh and there is a single think gauge cable (about or larger than the positive and negative battery wires) that has just two ends and a spike next to the screw hole on one side. I can't figure out where to put it... any ideas?

There were some differences along the years, but I don't know if it will cause you problems. Gen 1 had one design. 92-93 had another version, and 94-95 had dual speed cooling fans. They should all plug into each other, but you would want to check the wiring diagrams to make sure you do not give yourself a problem.

Your large cable sounds like a battery cable. What year car are we talking about?

1990 MTX. There are three cables that I pulled off, one I marked with red tape, one I marked with blue tape and one I marked with green tape. The red one has to be the positive battery cable. The blue one logically would be negative, since it is the only other one with a terminal connector on it. The green one has a metal bracket crimped onto the wire with a hole on it on each end. One of those ends has a smaller hole with a metal spike sticking out of one of the sides. I am assuming it is "keyed" to attach a particular way.

I guess I should add, it is considerably shorter than the positive cable and shorter than the negative cable.

That's the starter cable. It runs between the ignition solenoid and the starter. The positive battery cable runs to the solenoid, the negative battery cable runs to a stud on the transmission bellhousing.
