which would be easier, I'm picking up a gen2 parts car (severe body damage) that runs great. My 90 doesn't run so great but has a good body (and crap-o interior) I have a full garage to use including lift and friends to help. What would you do?

ummm, id do a front 60k before swapping an engine. But in this case your engine is free, so maybe swapping the engine is cheaper, is that what you're saying?

No it's not free 300 including another interior (seats) from another car. My lift time is not even a cost issue 3 bucks an hour, plus a room ful of tools.

well I mean the engine is technically free, sort of haha, but having done about 6 or 7 front 60k's and about 10-15 engine swaps, I can say do the front 60k so long as you know that is why the car is running bad.

well there's a ps pump that's bad, and an ac compressor that's not working, and the clutch feels like it's about to go (parts car has newer clutch and less miles overall) plus PO has full documentation of services performed. By the way I think cheaper is better than easier at this point lol.

I actually mean upper 60k I'm a little new to the terms about the sho, yeah there's some bad ticking from the rear valve train. plus I need to do the o2 sensors, can some one tell me why I bought this car in this condition lol.

oh ok well different story, sounds like the engine in your car is pretty tired. Also if your clutch is going, you mine as well pull it then and replace it. Id even do a full 60k on the parts car engine while its out, then you won't have to worry about it for a while. It least replace the main seals.

That's what I was thinking it's going to be much easier to work on the pulled engine, then again if the gen 2 is only superficial I might just get the body straightened out and drive the gen 2, though it did hit a COW!!! but the guy says it's only glass and roof damage we'll see when I look at it tomorrow.

any type of 60k > pulling motor. hands down IMO. Ive heard of cam chains/tensioner making noise, even swapping heads would be easier. If your going to pull the motor you might as well pony up a little more cash for a 3.2.

Cam chain/tensioner what side of the engine is that on, passenger or drivers, cause it's way louder on the drivers side, or back I guess in SHO terms. Plus I though when I was looking at the car that the scratches on the intake plenum were in the wrong spot for it to be the motor mount, guess what
