Hello SHO-Forum and thank you for your potential help.
Gen 1 91 SHO ashamed to say front end damage, nothing to bad, ac compressor is messed up but it didn't work before so i haven't fixed it,Replaced the radiator after the accident and it seemed to be running fine until the engine fan kept running for hours till the battery was dead. Now a fully charged battery drains before you can get behind the wheel. The Car sat in Phoenix for about a decade so everything is pretty dried out, i was told it could be the Coolant temperature sensor which is a really cheap part. anyone else have this problem or something similar?
Any and all advice about the Yamaha 3.0 SHO engine would be greatly appreciated my sho-gun warrior hasn't even had a 60k, i want to keep her going for a long time but am fairly new to the SHO-Life and what it takes to maintain such a beautiful classic american/*** sleeper
Thank you for reading about my problem SHOforum, thanks again

iirc, the low coolant sensor is also a suspect in these situations.

When the fan is running, tap the CCRM on top of your rad saddle that you may have unplugged to change your rad. Often this can free a sticky relay, but not always.

There is a lot of wiring in the top section of the rad saddle that does not like to be disturbed, but has been in the front end smack. Take a close look at the wiring near any bends or folds in the metal.

Get a multimeter and probe the circuits in your underhood fuse box with the key off.

Obviously you have to deal with the battery problem - I am hunting an electrical gremlin now myself. :(
Definitely get yourself a mechanic who knows SHOs - that it has lived this long without even a 60K is impressive but really scary. Because major services are expensive lots of cars went without, but if you snap what drives your cams it's dead / unrepairable motor, if you have something go bad and mixture goes rich you burn up cats, if your water pump leaks (and it will) your crank sensor gets killed. Oh, and **** the brake slider pins NOW, it's easy, to prevent costly brake issues since it's been sitting a long time.
Your avatar says Cali but you're FlagstaffRyan, so am not sure where you are located. If you are within range of the San Jose, CA area there's an excellent mechanic here who has been my main man for better part of twenty years. mail me at

I think the V6 SHO engines are non interference, so it actually can survive a timing belt failure.

The V8 SHOs are interference engines and do not survive timing chain and cam sprocket failures.

^ Correct, V6 SHO is non-interference engine and will survive the timing belt breaking unless a huge amount of carbon on piston tops.

Note also that water pump leaks will not always **** the crank sensor, and that crank sensors will eventually fail due to time and heat even without having coolant dripped on them.
