It's not, The angle will help facilitate Tranny removal tomorrow. Once the tranny is removed, the weight will be more well distributed and it will straighten out.

I built one out of steel too.

Complete with carpet pads, and cranks to raise and lower the engine with precision :naughty:

It really didnt get in the way. I thought it worked pretty darn well. Specially with the subframe slides right back off of it. Its halfway lifted up so you can put it back on your self!

I'd be a little careful about adding some reinforcement so that if something gets bumped or moved laterally that those 2x6s and 2x4s on the fenders don't keel over.

Mine is a SHONUT version, taken from the clutch install video. Strong as heck. No lateral movement concerns at all. I used some serious lag screws all around. I doubt I could get it apart now even if I wanted to.

Please be careful. Your implementation of the design omitted the triangular pieces under the crossbar at each end that prevented side-to-side motion. If you look on the drawing again, you will see the pieces in the "CC TYPICAL" view halfway down the page at the far left. Since the drawings of the two full spans of the front and rear bars were views from the top, the lateral supports under the bars only show as dotted lines in those pictures.

lol its not that big. its 182 c.i. not to mention its no where near 700lbs i think with heads and block its 400 lbs pushing it... wanna know how i figure that?
engine swap i had to move the 3.0 block with heads on it by myself and i had lifted it to move. so if it was close to 700 lbs id be in a lot of pain.
but never the less you dont wanna be under that thing if your suport snaps on ya. even 200 lbs at about a foot drop will do some serious damage to you under the car.

an engine lift will do more wonders then some boards plus in case ya go to do something else later on it will be useful.
the boards look like they are buckeling in. add some corner braces and some flat braces to the boards since its better safe then sorry.

also im just wondering is this how a clutch install works ? you drop the trans and subframe? im just wondering for future refference.
Yes, the subrame and then the tranny, in that order. Now of course there's some preperation involved, and a whole bunch of stuff to disconnect and reconnect - sequentially - which is why the SHONUT clutch install DVD is so helpful the first and even second time through the process.
