When I am cruising at about 2000 to 2500 RPM and step into the throttle a bit to try and pick up speed, the engine hesitates and stutters, almost like a misfire. It happens more while I'm moving than when I'm accelerating from a stop. It isn't the TPS, because I just replaced that about six weeks ago.

I did notice that when this stuttering happens, the tach needle jumps down sharply a couple hundred RPM. I haven't checked the codes yet, but it hasn't thrown a CE light like it did when the TPS was going out.

My wires and plugs are fairly new, so I'm hoping they're not the problem. What else would cause this kind of stuttering?

When's the last time the fuel filter has been changed?

my car does something similar, but I always thought it was just throttle feathering because it is a low rpm.

Sounds a lot like a plug to me. How recently did you say you replaced them? I would check to make sure they're all fine. BTW who tripped the radar @ 167mph?

Fuel filter is about two years old, and the plugs have been in there for about 5000 or 6000 miles. Next time I have a plug socket handy I'll climb in there and look around.
