Engine sounds like a lawn mower

I believe I have an exhaust leak, but not sure. If I am under the hood while the car is running, and i hit the gas, I hear, what sounds like to me, a faint sound of a lawnmower running. You know, the sound of a lawnmower exhaust. Anyone have an idea of where to look first? Thanks Fellas

Check where your Y pipe meets the cat back...that donut usually rusts away

ATXs have a gasket, not a donut.

That gasket at the flex pipe might be the problem. Other strong possibilities would be the y-pipe to manifold joints.

There is no substiture for a close inspection. Crawl under there and get busy!
