I don't see what the big deal is about this swap. lincolns go cheap at auction. buy a good running car. swap the subframe including engine, transmission, wiring, and ecu. I don't see why this would take more than a weekend.

Well lord knows everything else about the SHO is simple.

On another note, I have half a mind to swap a B16 in just to blow everybody's mind. I think that'd be funny, and for once space shouldn't be an issue.

If money is no issue what about a ecoboost powered gen3. I'm sure that would fit better than some of these large v8s And talk about an awsome SHO

Another alternative would be an SR20DETT. Or... the wankel from an RX-7. HAH. That'd be hilarious. 13k rpm, here I come!

Might be had to find one of those, only one guy sells them, and hes fresh out.

I also hate the SR20DET because so many fan boys swap them into their cars, throw a shitton of mods at them, **** away 20 grand, then get rub an tugs from everyone on the nissan forums when they make 280hp at on the dyno.

There we go. That is the one I want. Tons of horses and torque, AWD, and less weight in a better looking body. Yes, over the years, I have finally gotten used to the looks to the point that I even like it. :)

2jz-GTE, RB26DETT, 4g63/4g64 all depends on how much you got. You can for instance take the 4.4L Yamaha Volvo engine and AWD tranny. Bolt it right up to a gen 5 or 6 Taurus. You can do stupid things like take the VR38DETT from a GTR and put it in. I you want you could take the Ford indigo engine and put it in there (Aston engine).

Or this

a V12 Rolls Royce Merlin engine from a WW2 fighter plane

Or
Big engine

MUAHAHAHHHAHAAHAHHAHAHA

you guys are hilarious. The continental shares a TON of parts with the taurus. transmission, subframe and rack. Unibody mounting location is the same (They share a very similar unibody for those that don't know) not identical suspension but gen 3/4 suspension would be substituted for continental suspension. Everything else is a bolt up affair. It took me 8 or 9 hours to have the subframe out of my 1994 turbo car (which is a **** of a lot more of a pitta to work on than most) laying on the ground with the engine, suspension, wiring, transmission still attached to it. If I was at all interested in having a powerful front drive car with a transmission that is much more limited than the engine I would do the swap. Fact is I have no interest, time, space, or funding to complete a project that would be completely worthless when it is complete. It would be harder to sell that than a SHO powered F body.

If someone were to look into a neat swap I still think a full EVO swap into a get 1/2 including AWD would be amazing. It would be like driving a bigger more comfy evo. only it would be heavier, slower, would not handle as good, and would have more rust.

yeah a 4g64 like a posted above but i think the best would be a inline 6 and RWD would have to be like a 2L Inline 6 frm a GTR the 4G63/64 has crank walk problems.

A 4G63 swap is possible, an RB swap is going to be even heavier than the SHO, and will not fit unless you set the engine way back into the firewall.

Neither one is a good swap for a SHO though, IMO. If I wanted a beat up old car with a 4G63/RB20 in it, I'd just get a DSM/S13.

not much room for another V8. I'm almost certain a RB engine would fit. They were always a small inline 6 compared to the other inline 6s out there. At least a early RB would i don't recall if they changed the block length through the displacement changes only worked on 2...

As long as we're talking about swaps that are generally pointless I may as well throw in a 2.3t

Some Turbocoupes weigh in around 3700 pounds and can scoot. I know mine does. I'll even sell you a complete motor sans for a turbo.
