engine skipping

just noticed this the other day that when i have my car in park or in neutral and i hit the gas the car starts to skip and run like s--- but when i let off the gas it runs fine and it runs fine when i am driving it no matter where the rpms are at.ooh ya it don't start doing it till the rpm hit around 4000 any ideas what might be causing it thx

rev limiter. Boy you sure don't play around "hittin' the gas in neutral"

Yes, fortunately Ford put in the limiter so that folks don't blow up their torque convertor and tranny. If you want to rev, get an mtx!

so then it is normal for it to do that just was not sure thx

perfectly normal. Drive any other automatic and they will have the same limiter in place
