engine skipping

just noticed this the other day that when i have my car in park or in neutral and i hit the gas the car starts to skip and run like s--- but when i let off the gas it runs fine and it runs fine when i am driving it no matter where the rpms are at.ooh ya it don't start doing it till the rpm hit around 4000 any ideas what might be causing it thx :nut:

rev limiter. Boy you sure don't play around "hittin' the gas in neutral" :p

Yes, fortunately Ford put in the limiter so that folks don't blow up their torque convertor and tranny. If you want to rev, get an mtx! ;)

perfectly normal. Drive any other automatic and they will have the same limiter in place
