Engine Removal on 97 SHO

Hello, getting ready to pull my engine and replace with new one. I have a question for those who have already done this before. Does the engine and trans need to come out as one or just the engine? Thanks, David

Drop the engine, tranny and subframe along with the Y pipe. I then put the subframe on four jack stands and take the Y pipe off, loosen the motor mount nuts and lift the tranny and engine off. You can remove the tranny from the engine with it on the floor.
