Alrighty... I FINALLY got my 93 ATX going again. The RH idler pulley on the timing belt had fallen off and I had to replace it.
The problems started around the time the pulley fell off. I managed to limp it over to a safe parking spot and left it. When I stopped the car, the engine was smoking. Billowing white smoke. Stinky billowing white smoke. It's not a sweet smell. Actually it smells like burning plastic. The smoke is coming from the passenger side engine bay, kinda hard to pinpoint.
Anyway, I finally got everything reconnected and running. But it's still smoking sometimes. Not all the time, but sometimes. And if the engine is taken above about 5k RPMs, it hesitates. Like it goes up to 5.5k and then back down. It feels like the torque converter is slipping or somesuch.
I'm thinking one or more of my cam seals may have gone bad. If so, how hard is that to change out?

Opinions?

check your fluid levels to see if and what you are low on, maybe clean the engien and then run it to pinpoint where the leak is. and go from there

I cleaned up the side there and checked my fluids. I'm losing a little bit of coolant and a touch of oil. I know the rear cam seal is going bad, so I'm thinking maybe the water pump is leaking... Maybe the oil and coolant burning off the cats is causing the horrid smell.
I think the power loss is a seperate issue. If I step on the gas, it accelerates, but the battery light comes on. It goes away after a second or two, usually after I back off the throttle. It has started doing this at lower RPMs as well..... Maybe the fuel pump? I just changed the plug wires and 5 of the plugs. I couldn't get to the other one at that time.... Maybe the injectors?
