Anyone have a good idea at what is making the noise?
I found a motor to put in the car, but i have not paid for it yet. still would like to keep this motor if its something that can be repaired.

Is it from the top of the engine? It kind of sounds that way pull the valve covers and check the chain tenisors and all your shims for correct gap and to make sure its not missing one. You could also help us by isolating the area of the noise.

Valve covers were off already, chain tensioner replaced. he looked at the shims and said they looked fine. I am just going to order the motor now, need to get the car on the road by monday, missing to much work.. btw he also agreed he thought the noise was coming from the top of the engine.

you cant judge a valve shim by just looking at it, you have to measure it with a set of metric guages maybe someone can ellaborate on the procedure... but it sounds like the engine is in need of a valve lash.
