Engine noise is driving me up the wall!

thing is when its cold the oil is thicker so if its a bearing problem it will get louder as the oil warms up....

I'm going to guess that you are hearing a piston slap because the rings are sticky. When it warms up, the piston expands enough that the rings fit better and the noise goes away. I can't hear well enough on the audio to tell what's going on, but that is a common issue on these engines, especially if the previous owners didn't like to change the oil, or if they have sat for extended periods of time. AutoRx or Seafoam has helped on occasion, and Mobil 1 has lots of detergents so it helps clean up that stuff over time.

If you had sticky rings, wouldn't the car burn oil?

I was thinking that too but it's weird that the noise goes away. After I listened to it a few times I am starting to think he may have two different noises.

very posible ive seen wierder stuff happen and it may be something that is small enough to let the thined out oil through enough to quiet the noise it may still be there even after it warms up but not that noticeable
