I am still fighting vibrations in the front of my SHO. I was looking into engine mounts next. I was looking at images of the mounts. The new mount shows the aluminum housing up off of the rubber isolator. The old mount shows the aluminum housing down on, or at least close to, the rubber isolator. I know mine is setting on that pad. Does that mean my mount is shot?

I attached a video of how much the engine rocks at 2000 rpm forward and reverse. Is this normal movement?

Yes that means your mount is shot. I would replace.

Thanks for the responses. I will get some ordered.

Is there an aftermarket stiff option, similar to the torque struts that are available?

Replace both. I had a VERY noticeable clank/clunk if I hit a bump in the road in my ST for along time. I literally hunted the clank/clunk down for 5 months. Everything I read and watched on Youtube told me it was the front end. I damn near replaced the whole front end and it didn't go away. Strut bearings, tie end links, hardware, bushings, ect. I almost bought coil overs out of desperation.

One night it rained, and I decided I was just going to go enjoy my ST in the rain in a big parking lot. I beat on it pretty good and went home. Next day I went to work, and went I started the ST it made the same exact clank/clunk without moving. Instantly I knew it was a motor mount. Ended up being the top passenger side motor mount. It literally drove me crazy for 5 months. The rubber had crack and leaked all the dampening fluid out, and it was flat. It took me beating the snot out of it for the motor mounts to finally collapse and give up the goat.

Funny you say that. I was wondering where that noise is coming from. I have a 1.5" lip going into my garage. Every time I get a clunk. Sounds like a bad shock, but that shocks are fine.

I have the same damn sound! My work has an about a 2" lip and I can go over it super slow and still get a clunk. I had been thinking that was just Ford stuff, coming from ultra-quiet Lexus cars.

Yes, I am starting to think the same. I put new mounts in. It didn't change.

It might be the low profile of the 20-inch wheels. I remember on my NX300 that the ride quality decreased when I went from 18's to 20's with the same overall diameter.
