I just searched about bad engine mounts and after reading about symptoms and stuff i'm wondering if my problem could be something more. My engine definetly moves, about and inch or two with the parking brake on and pushing it in foward and reverse, however, the shifter is also getting much looser. I can feel the shifter moving foward and back as i accelerate and coast, and finding each gear is a little harder/less precise. So does this sound like just the engine and transmission mounts or that plus anything else? What do you guys think and can anything bad happen by driving it like this for a little while? Thanks for any help

As the engine and transaxle move around, that motion is transmitted to the shifter. It also makes the shifting get a lot sloppier.

It would be better to replace the bad mounts sooner rather than later.
