91 SHO was running good then it started missing, i can hear small pops coming from the exhust. It has lost power also and under load will act like it just for a second loses power. I have bought plugs but have not put them in yet, does anyone have a idea what else might be wrong???

When you pull the plug wires, check for oil in the spark plug well. If present you need to change the valve cover gaskets and plug well seals also. At that point it is a good time to check valve lash.

The best method I have found for getting the SHO running right is to make sure the MAF is clean. A dirty MAF will cause ungodly poor drivability.

If that dosent work, then it's time for plugs and wires(you can just clean out the plug wells for now..if they have oil in them).

Usually during the course of chaging plugs and wires, you will find something else that could be causing the issues.

This is also the cheapest way I have found...
Cleaning the MAF is only about $5 for CRC MAF cleaner.
Wires are about $50
Plugs are about $50
Take things in that order and you should be happy with the results.

Pull codes so the problem can be troubleshot better. Right now all we can do is give guesses.
