I have been having this problem for about a week now.
I will be cruising down the road and all of the sudden the car will loose ALL engine power(Bog Down). If I let off the gas it will idle ok, but not good. When I make it to the side of the road it will shutter then die. When this is happening, if I give the car any throttle it bogs down, like it is getting no fuel.

I think it is the MAF, or TPS. Reason is when I give the car gas, you can hear it get more air, but it bogging down makes me think that there is no fuel. I dont know if it is spark related.

Thanks for the help.

Well if you think its not getting any fuel how about testing the fuel pressure and see where that gets you. It does sound like it could be a dying pump.

Think About IAC

My experience was very similar to yours two years ago, I replaced my IAC and my 95 SHO has been idling great ever since. Some members will recommend to clean the valve, but I decided to just by a new part for her this time. Good Luck.

With it idling fine, I would say the IAB should be ok. It sounds like your engine is either starving for fuel or bad spark.

Did you put gas in it?? I would also pull your codes to see if your O2's say anything about running lean to confirm your suspiscion of it getting air but not enough fuel.

Check your spark plug wires maybe...make sure they are all seated on. I had a probelm with the rear middle spark wire literally coming off and just sitting on top of the plug. The car would run like crap under load (especially going up hills), but idle fine. A new set of wires fixed that problem.

I'll second the idea of checking the fuel pressure.

I've been fighting intermittent stalling on my SHO since spring.

Was never able to induce the problem in the driveway until this week. Fuel pressure guage shows pressure is dropping to below 20psi when the stalling occurs. A new fuel pump is on order.

I also thought it was my IAC since the problem often manifested itself when idling or when letting off the throttle. Replacement of the IAC seemed to help for a few days, but the problem then returned.

Never had any codes...

It had an upper 60K about 6 months ago with new motorcraft plugs and wires. I never thought of the fuel pump.

Never any codes stored but the CEL turns on right before it happens.

I also beleive the o2's are ok.

I think I will check fuel pressure next.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Interesting...if the CEL has been going on and off, then you would think that a code or two has been stored. You're doing both the KOEO and KOER tests, right?

Don't forget to replace the fuel filter (assuming it hasn't been done in a while) when you replace the pump. In fact, you might even try replacing the filter first.

Yes, did both KOEO, and KOER tests. The fuel filter is new. I will try to get a fuel pressure gauge on the car soon.

Is that the dirrection I should go?

If your Catalytic Converters are glowing, you need a new Ignition module. If not, keep searching. It could be a loose wire for the CPS, except it seems to be heat related.

No cats on the car.

May be the CKP though
