I was having trouble with my battery light comming on and a sputtering idle with my alternator running at a tested 13.9 volts!! So I ran my codes, here's what I found was wrong:

116-Engine coolant (ECT) sensor out of range
136-Oxygen sensor not switching/system lean Left or Front HO2S.
176-Oxygen sensor not switching-system is or was lean Left or Front HO2S
177-Oxygen sensor not switching-system was rich Left or Front HO2S
216-Primary circuit failure-Ignition coil 2
543-Fuel pump monitor circuit shows no power. Fuel pump relay or battery power feed was open.

My question is what do all of these mean? I know I probably have to replace all of my Oxygen sensors, but what about 116, 216, & 543??? Are these what are making my battery light flicker at idle, then come on fully when engine is revved? Any suggestions Greatly Appreciated!!?? shrug

With a battery light these codes may mean absolutely nothing. The battery light indicates that your charging system is not providing sufficient power to charge the battery and operate the vehicles electrical system -- probably as a result of a failing alternator/regulator.

When battery voltage gets low and the alternator isn't putting out enough power, you'll often see some bizzare behavior as various systems fight for the little power available, usually with some erroneous codes. I recommend having your battery and alternator tested and serviced/replaced as necessary. Once that's fixed, you can run the codes again to get a better idea of what truly needs attention! :)

Additionally, the engine has to be warmed up properly before running the KOER test, otherwise you will get ECT errors. Warm the cats up by running the engine at 2K RPM for 2 minutes immediately prior to running the KOER test.

None of these codes, as mentioned, should have any effect on the BATT light (unless you observed it with low <600 RPMS).
