Engine codes

[GT86]

I finally got my car put back together after the changing the timing belt

Now I have some codes I'm not sure what they mean

I did the self test indicated on this site

Here's my codes

172 (R,M) Oxygen sensor not switching - system is or was lean - Single, Right orr Rear HO2S - Fuel control

I believe this means i need to change the oxygen sensors


332 (R,M) EGR did not open/respond during test or if memory code, did not open intermittantly - EVR or PFE

I'm guess this means I need to change the Egr valve


538 (R) System did not receive "goose" test

Have no idea what this Means

632 (R) E4OD - Transmission Control Switch (TCS) should be cycled once between engine ID and Goose test

Not really sure on this I'm guessing the TCS needs to be changed

565 (O) Canister Purge 1 solenoid/circuit failure - Solenoids

No clue what this means either

Most likely the rear right O2 failed.

Canister + egr = same issue
Goose + TCS = same issue

Look for unplugged wires behind the intake , near the EGR.

TCS one i have no clue.

But it doesnt mean it NEEDS to be changed. sometimes some codes can be erased just by cleaning the faulty piece

The canister purge valve is a part of the EVAP system and therefore not related to the EGR system. The 565 code could be a bad canister purge valve or a problem in the CANP circuit (open, short).

As noted, the 538 and 632 codes, and maybe even the 332 code, can be attributed to not executing the EEC Self Test in precisely the correct manner. Pulling EEC-IV codes can be tricky at first.

If the 332 code was not caused by an error in the EEC Self Test, then it's more likely attributable to clogged EGR ports/nostrils. (See: http://www.shoforum.com/showpost.php?p=619933&postcount=3). EGR valves rarely fail.

The 172 code may indeed be a bad 02 sensor.

I agree with the suggestion to triple check all electrical connections and grounds.
